Having fun
Playing hard, as well as working hard, is an important part of life at WSP.
Across our global office network we have people competing together, supporting local charities, and simply enjoying some time together outside of work.
Here is a simple snapshot of what we get up to, both together and as individuals.
Tacky dressing in Denver
In Denver, Colorado, the Americans host an annual R.A.T.S.A.S.S. That's Rich's Annual Tacky Shirt And Sweater Show, led by General Manager, Rich Long. The 2009 winner was an 'outsider' - the Global Marketing Manager was visiting. He had been briefed!
Habitat Improvement
Deep in the heart of the Pennine Hills of Northern England, some of our staff recently enjoyed the unusually excellent weather to undertake a day’s team building, clearing invasive scrub and trees from mature heather moorland to improve the habitat for nesting birds. We call that fun.
White chocolate & raspberry muffins
Our Sydney and Melbourne teams indulged in Australia's 'Biggest Morning Tea' in 2008 to raise money for the Cancer Council's work. They baked, they awarded prizes and they ate and drank tea. And they raised money.
WSP - live & unleashed
Director of Acoustics, Dave Maundrill, is just one member of a WSP Group house-band in London. Dave's the drummer, and the music is contemporary rock. It's loud and impressive, and they are called WSP. But we won't tell what this WSP stands for!
Supporting racer Craig
Senior Project Director and energy consultant, Craig Ramich takes part in speedway events in the US. WSP is one of the supporters of Craig's racing car. Craig ensures his racing is as sustainable as possible by adopting responsible resource practices and environmentally-conscious purchasing decisions.
