In a highly developed economy such as the UK, statistics suggest that property emits over 50% of total GHG emissions.

- The EU’s ‘Energy Performance in Buildings Directive’. In particular this demands a form of ‘Energy Performance Certification’ for buildings before they can be sold or leased, bringing greater transparency to the efficiency of different buildings.
- The Carbon Reduction Commitment. Essentially a UK driven carbon trading scheme, measuring energy usage and driving energy reduction strategies.
- Managing Asbestos Risks. We advise organisations in the UK on managing asbestos risks in relation to property - frequently during brownfield development. A robust risk management system is required to adhere to the ‘duty to manage’ requirements of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006.
