Third-Party EHS Audits for Global Beverage Company
We performed independent third-party environmental, health & safety audits for a global company involved in beverage production, agricultural operations, and entertainment and theme park operations.

Safety programme developed for Beijing Bama Food Processing Company
US food company BAMA is enjoying rapid growth in the Chinese market. WSP has helped BAMA design and implement safety programmes which reflects the growth of their business in this region. A safety climate survey followed by safety culture and leadership training for management have been key elements of this programme.

Multi-nationals sign up for in-depth EH&S;training
Multi-nationals and large state owned companies such as Saint-Gobain, Coca-Cola, Siemens, Vestas, Applied Materials, ConocoPhillips and ABB, are just some of the organisations who have placed their employees on our specialist 5 day EH&S workshops held across China since 2005. We have hosted these workshops in Shanghai, Guangzhou and Tianjin. Training includes case studies and practical exercises to help build knowledge and skills for EH&S managers and HSE co-ordinators.

Auditing for European Bank for Reconstruction and Development
We conducted a large number of environmental, social, H&S reviews on behalf of the EBRD who assess funding support. Examples include; auditing two glass plants in the Ukraine where we assessed risks and potential liabilities and prepared an environmental action plan to ensure best practice; auditing 20 sites for Unimilk Dairies in Russia and the Ukraine; and auditing and environmental planning for 3 sites for Lafarge Cement plants in Russia.

Providing Strategic Asbestos Consultancy for Ashtenne throughout the UK
For over 7 years we have been providing Ashtenne Industrial Fund with Asbestos Consultancy services throughout the UK. This has included: asbestos management advice; single and multi-site asbestos management plans; asbestos surveys; risk assessments; removal contractor selection; management of abatement works; and the production of technical specifications for surveys and abatement.

Demolition and asbestos management at a University in the UK
Leeds Metropolitan University's 'A Block' is a building situated in the heart of the city centre. We were asked to project manage the site clearance of one of this redundant building. Its location was sensitive due to nearby active university buildings. We monitored the demolition and asbestos removal works to ensure that the Principal Contractor met their health and safety, best practice and environmental obligations.

Fire & EH&S audit of FBI training academy in the USA
We conducted a comprehensive fire protection, occupational safety and health, and environmental management compliance audit of the facilities and operations of the FBI at its Virginia training centre. This included the FBI's state-of-the-art forensic laboratory and firing ranges. Deficiencies were identified in respect of regulatory compliance with mitigation measures provided.

Building a charter for safety culture in Asia and the Gulf Region
Our behavioural risk specialists held a series of workshops with the senior leadership team of Leighton International, one of the world's leading contractors and project developers in Asia and the Gulf Region. They developed a charter of 7 key actions to demonstrate their commitment to a safety culture. The solution established accountability at a senior level, and the charter can be used by management throughout the organisation.

Environmental management for Skanska
Our work with Skanska, one of the world's leading construction groups, has most recently involved advising their central team in Sweden on the development of a carbon footprinting protocol to help align the approach taken by all of their business areas. And in the UK we have assisted them in achieving certification to the international Environmental Management System standard, ISO 14001.
