Demand & Efficiency
Water has quickly moved up the agenda as a scarce natural resource to manage efficiently. We help to improve water efficiency by asking the right questions, gathering information and designing tailored solutions that address the areas of greatest impact. And we look at this across all aspects of water management.
Let's take a few examples...
In Buildings
We look at an organisation's existing properties to understand areas of greatest water consumption and implement practical and easy fixes. This might include low flush toilets, low water taps, water-less urinals and so on. We also have experts who plan for sustainable water infrastructure as part of a new development. Across Companies
Water footprints are a great tool for understanding water use across an organisation, including both direct and indirect impacts. For example, for a manufacturer we would go as far as to include the water embedded in raw materials and where that is sourced from, as well as the water consumed during production and the water used during a consumer's use of a product.
So we can calculate an organisations entire water footprint and map this to where the water is sourced from to determine the severity of impact. Once the footprint and impact have been identified, we can design efficiency programmes which spread across your entire organisation and supply-chain. Find out more about water footprinting.
In Products
Did you know that a typical 29 inch TV will use more than 62,000 litres of water over its entire lifecycle? The manufacture of products results in the consumption of a lot of water and for many organisations the footprint from their products is significantly higher than from their direct impacts. We have experts around the world in green product design who are experienced in techniques which minimise water use throughout the entire product life cycle.
