PACT

In October 2007 we launched a carbon tracking scheme (called PACT) for our UK staff. It is a scheme that helps our staff to track and impact their personal carbon emissions outside of work. We were the very first company in the UK to launch such a scheme.

Staff uptake has been great. Which may not be that surprising given that many of us are trained and dedicated sustainability specialists. And we are now helping several of our clients to implement similar schemes in their organisations.

Those in the scheme are given a yearly allowance of carbon emissions and the tools to measure their activities each quarter.

Those that exceed their allowance commit to making a financial contribution which is collected into a carbon fund that supports carbon reducing activities both for our own business and local communities.

Those whose emissions are lower than their allowance can either take a cash payment or reinvest their reward into the Carbon Fund.
