WSP attract investment from Black Empowerment Group in Africa

It gives us great pleasure to announce that with effect from 1 January 2009, the Black Empowerment Consortium, Intsaki, has acquired a 26% equity stake in WSP Africa.

Intsaki, which is backed by Investec Private Bank, has subscribed for new shares in WSP Africa, representing 26% of the enlarged capital. 

The deal will enable WSP Africa to comply with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Codes of Good Practice for Black Economic Empowerment.  This will in turn open up new business opportunities for the Group which includes WSP Environmental (Pty) Ltd.

Fani Mtetwa will be joining the Board of WSP Africa and we welcome Fani and his colleagues into the WSP family.
