Corporate Sustainability Report for Dubai Aluminium

DUBAL (Dubai Aluminium) has contracted WSP E&E Middle East to support development of their second Corporate Sustainability Report addressing years 2008 and 2009. The first report published in 2007 provided a foundation for an expanded scope in subsequent reports as it utilised the Global Reporting Initiative, guidance on Sustainability Reporting used by organisations of all types and scales, but not to its full capacity having achieved an Application Level of less than C. There are three Application Levels for the GRI, C, B and A.

DUBAL is now seeking to achieve a higher Application Level and therefore has expanded the scope of the report to include a wider range of issues, including more financial data, details regarding their interaction with all major stakeholders and expanded analysis of their environmental performance. In addition, the report will continue to cover their progress towards achieving corporate goals, International Aluminium Institute (IAI) targets and meeting or exceeding regulatory and voluntary standards.

Publication of this report is a step towards greater transparency and public reporting by companies headquartered in the Middle East and is 1 of 5 reports published by companies in the UAE.
