REACH Legislation

WSP is delighted to confirm its ability to offer Only Representative services to China based manufacturers in respect of the REACH legislation.

REACH is regarded as one of the most complex pieces of legislation to be introduced by the European Union.  It stands for the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals.  It introduces major changes to the way chemicals are managed, aiming to provide greater protection to human health and the environment.  The legislation affects all organisations exporting to Europe.

China based manufacturers must ensure any chemical substances contained in their products supplied to the EU market are registered.  However, the legislation states that non-EU based manufacturers cannot themselves register chemicals, but can appoint an Only Representative to act on their behalf.
