Stora Property Priset 2008 goes to WSP employee

Jonas Kunze from our Building Physics team was awarded the Stora Property Priset (Large Property Prize) in September for his degree project.

The prize was shared with Itai Danielski, KTH, with whom Jonas co-wrote the degree project for Uppsala University.  The Stockholm Exploitation Office, the Stockholm Environmental Administration, the Stockholm City Planning Office, the Hammarby Sjöstad project and ÅF Infrastruktur were involved, among others, on the judging panel.

The degree project examined energy efficiency in newly built multiple occupancy housing constructed as part of the City of Stockholm's environmental programme for new builds.  As part of the project, these two students critically examined and compared the impact of different factors on the energy performance of new-build multiple occupancy housing.

The Stora Property Prize was established by ISS Facility Services with the aim of drawing attention to and demonstrating the importance of preserving Sweden's stock of buildings as well as increasing interest in the industry.

Jonas is advising WSP clients on energy certification and the environmental classification of buildings.
