WSP attend Wal-Mart Sustainability Summit in Beijing
24 November 2008
WSP Environment & Energy attended and exhibited at the Wal-Mart Sustainability Summit in Beijing last month. This Summit was highly topical given changes in market and governmental pressures in China and it attracted various high-profile speakers and delegates.
Wal-Mart held the 'Sustainability Summit - Beijing' in support of a supply chain initiative they have been running for several years. Wal-Mart recognises China's domestic pressures for improvements in environmental quality and energy efficiency and aim to drive sustainability practices throughout their global supply chain, particularly in China.
The Summit brought together 900 CEOs of Wal-Mart's leading suppliers, Chinese officials and entrepreneurs, with the goal of improving business practices in the global supply chain. Lee Scott, President and CEO at Wal-Mart, gave the keynote speech on 'supply chains of the future'.
WSP were invited to exhibit at this event having being identified as a leader in the field of sustainability services as a result of our innovative solutions.
