Awards success in USA – WSP Environment & Energy scoops four business achievement awards | 13th Jan 2010
We are delighted to announce that WSP Environment & Energy (WSP E&E) is the recipient of four business achievement awards from the respected US publications Environmental Business Journal (EBJ) and Climate Change Business Journal (CCBJ).
Environmental Business Journal Awards
In the twelfth edition of the Environmental Business Journal Awards, WSP E&E repeats its success of 2008, by securing a Silver Achievement Award for large consulting and engineering firms (with revenue of over $100 million). This award is based on the overall revenue of WSP Group USA in 2009 and recognizes the rapid growth of WSP's US operations over the last 5 years.

Climate Change Business Journal Awards
WSP E&E also received two awards in the inaugural Climate Change Business Journal Awards. The first, a 'Project Merit' Award, acknowledges our work in performing a carbon footprint Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) for Microsoft. The project compared the carbon footprint of traditional DVD/CD distribution with digital software distribution for Microsoft's Volume Licensing business customers. The study found that electronic software distribution produces 91% less greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions than producing and shipping physical media disks and their associated packaging.
We are also proud that our unique personal carbon tracking program (PACT) has been recognized with an award for 'Organizational Innovation'. WSP E&E is the first company in the world to introduce a voluntary program of this type, which is designed to help staff track and manage their carbon emissions outside work.
Jan Chizzonite, Managing Director of WSP E&E USA comments;
"We are delighted to have won these awards which are a testament to the talent and hard work of our US employees. Despite the challenging economic conditions, we continue to make excellent progress towards our goal of being one of the world's most respected environmental and energy consulting firms".
WSP Environment & Energy will be joining other award winners in San Diego, California to collect our awards at the official awards ceremony and executive meeting at the Environmental Industry Summit in March 2010.
