Barbara Hudec joins WSP as Director in Germany | 17th Jan 2012

WSP is delighted to announce the appointment of Barbara Hudec as a Director and Head of Land Restoration & Ground Engineering services in Germany.  Working closely with the existing team, Barbara will take a strategic lead in developing our business in Germany and will play a key role in the growth of the business in Mainland Europe.

In a career spanning over 25 years, Barbara has worked on an extensive range of environmental issues including strategic consulting and management, contaminated site management, soil and water investigation, and sustainability and renewable energy solutions.

Based in WSP's Frankfurt office, Barbara joins from URS in Germany where she was a Director leading their Soil & Groundwater team. She has previously worked in the UK for WRc plc and managed the German Federal Consortium for Waste (LAGA) and Water (LAWA) on behalf of the Department of the Environment for North-Rhine/Westphalia. She started her career with BP focused on onshore and offshore oil exploration in Asia. Barbara has a Diploma in Geology from the University of Bonn and a PhD in Environmental Technology from the Technical University of Berlin.

Barbara will work closely with existing Director Chris Kiermayr, who will continue to lead the Environmental, Health and Safety Management and Risk service areas in Germany, in addition to taking a strategic lead in the growth of our Transactional services across Europe.
