Emma Farthing has joined WSP Environment & Energy and will lead WSP's EH&S Strategy and Risk Management services globally, from the London Head Office.

Emma has more than 20 years of international environmental consulting experience having lived and worked in the UK, USA, Netherlands, Germany and France. Emma has a reputation for delivering commercially robust advice and solutions to help a diverse range of industrial and financial clients to   understand and manage environmental risk.

Emma will report to Global Director WSP Environment & Energy Bob Kloepfer, who comments, "Emma is another tremendous addition to our global service line leadership team which is committed to the seamless provision of innovative and business focused support to our clients everywhere in the world that they operate."

Emma joins WSP after 10 years with Environ and prior to that was with Dames & Moore (now URS).  At Environ, Emma was a Principal responsible for the delivery of international transactional support to corporates and private equity clients, EHS compliance programme development and implementation, and contaminated land management.

Speaking about her appointment, Emma said: "I am proud to be joining WSP at this time.  Outward looking, WSP is continually innovating more effective and sustainable ways to support our Clients as they meet the challenges of ever tightening EHS legislation, changing geographical areas of operation, stakeholder and societal pressures and of course climate change.  As Global Service Leader for ESRM I will be seeking to develop our capabilities so that we continue to be a valued resource to our Clients".

Speaking of Emma's appointment, Stuart McLachlan, Managing Director for WSP Environment & Energy, comments; "We have a reputation for attracting some of the very best, most commercially minded talent in the market and Emma's appointment is testament to that. She joins an already well regarded team, having won the Environmental Advisor of the Year 2010 award, but Emma brings with her a wealth of experience that will help us to both deepen existing client relationships, as well as creating new ones. We are a business committed to growth and to delivering success in the markets where we operate. Senior appointments such as Emma's are a demonstration of our intent to take a leadership position in our chosen business sectors."
