Karen McAllister joins WSP as Environmental Planning Director, London | 30th Jan 2012

WSP Environment & Energy is delighted to announce the appointment of Karen McAllister as a London-based Director in the company's Environmental Planning division.

 

Karen has over 20 years' consultancy experience in the private sector. She specialises in strategic roles, advising and leading multi-disciplinary teams that include a range of design, environmental and sustainability specialists preparing high quality Applications, Reports and Environmental Statements to secure consents for a variety of land use, urban regeneration, and infrastructure projects. She has also acted as an expert witness at Public Inquiries for both public and private sector clients.  

 

Andy Porter, Principal Director of WSP's UK Environmental Planning team said: "Karen will bring valuable experience to our UK-based team and we are delighted to welcome her to our business. She has undertaken development projects at a senior level and has an excellent understanding of planning and development issues from all perspectives which will be of great benefit to our clients as we continue to develop and grow our multi-sector Environmental Planning division."

 

Karen is a former Director of RPS prior to which she was a Director of Town Planning Consultancy (TPC) which was acquired by RPS in 2001. She has been involved in projects that include the Stratford City Rail Lands outline planning applications/detailed applications for the Olympic Athletes Village and the Environmental Statement for redevelopment of the landholdings around Wembley Stadium including refurbishment of the listed Wembley Arena.    

 

Speaking on her appointment, Karen said: "I am looking forward to using my commercial planning experience to further strengthen the environmental planning capabilities of WSP across the UK."
