Mandatory carbon reporting for large UK companies from April 2013 | 28th Jun 2012

Nick Clegg announced at last week's UN Conference in Rio de Janeiro that from April 2013 it will be compulsory for all companies listed on the London Stock Exchange (LSE) to report their emissions data in their annual report. This makes the UK the first country in the world to bring in such mandatory emissions reporting.

We have produced a paper summarising the key facts, implications and actions for those companies listed on the LSE, you can download that here, but  our overarching advice is to start to prepare now in order to get the systems in place and establish a baseline year.

You might also be interested to get a summary of the outcomes from the UN Rio +20 conference last week, you can get more information from our website here, as well as a copy of our response to DECCs consultation on the simplification of the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme, accessible here.
