Two of WSP’s sustainability & energy professionals become certified Greenhouse Gas Inventory Quantifiers | 21st Jan 2010
WSP Environment & Energy's Dan Sobrinski and Eric Christensen are among the first twelve people to become certified Greenhouse Gas Inventory Quantifiers (GHG-IQ), as recognized by the independent body CSA Standards.
With a focus on corporate or organizational greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories, this certification is for professionals who develop, quantify and report GHG emissions and removals. The goal of the new CSA Standards program is to help enhance the credibility, consistency and environmental integrity of GHG quantification and reporting by recognizing professionals who are deemed competent to perform this job function.
This certification reflects the level of expertise among the professionals that make up WSP's Sustainability & Energy team in the US. This specialist team works with organizations to develop creative technical solutions and operational strategies to manage GHG emissions and energy performance.
The team also works as a contractor to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) providing technical assistance to their Climate Leaders Program. WSP is currently assisting over 80 Climate Leaders Partner companies to develop comprehensive GHG inventories and Inventory Management Plans and to complete Climate Leaders reporting requirements.
