Support for charities

“As part of our corporate responsibility we have launched a Pro Bono charity scheme in the UK. Charities as with all organisations need to develop clear policies and strategies to reduce their overall environmental impact. Charities are keen to address these issues but often don’t have the in-house expertise or resources.” David Symons, Director

And that is why we have developed our scheme. We aim to provide free and practical advice on a broad range of issues including;

  • Energy management
  • Water use and efficiency
  • Recycling and waste management
  • Ecological surveys
  • Geotechnical information and site remediation
  • General environmental and sustainability issues

Since 2009 our programme has been able to help five different charities, where they received or are currently receiving, up to five days of dedicated support over a twelve month period.

One of the charities we have worked with is Resources for Autism. This London based charity aims to improve the lives of children and adults diagnosed with autism. Some of the areas we looked at included;

  • How to improve energy distribution and efficiency around their building
  • How to improve their garden, for practical, educational and environmental purposes
  • How to help their staff to educate those in their care about practical environmental issues and activities, such as recycling

“We are proud to be the first environmental consultant to offer such a scheme to the market, but also to our staff. It is a powerful source of skills training and personal development, and feedback from our staff has been very positive.”
