We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic professional to provide leadership to our well established Birmingham based Land Restoration and Ground Engineering team. 

 

Description

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic professional with proven technical consultancy and business development experience to provide leadership to our well established Birmingham based Land Restoration and Ground Engineering team. 

 

The role as Team Leader/Business Unit Manager will suit an individual who has a strong technical and commercial background in development and remediation led geoenvironmental work, established leadership and management skills and a track record in client care and business development.

 

The responsibilities of the role are outlined below:-

 

Leadership

  • To lead, motivate and galvanize the team.
  • To communicate the vision and values of the company and the individual.
  • To use influence in order to gain the support and commitment of others.

 

Planning and Delivery

  • To identify the key business priorities in order to create plans and processes and organise activities efficiently.
  • To monitor progress of plans and processes and follow up in terms of implementation to ensure effective delivery.

 

Making Change Happen

  • To have an appetite for change and new ideas and approaches.
  • To be committed to achieving results and the effective implementation of the business plan.

 

Commercial Drive

  • To understand the business needs to achieve financial success on a local and company-wide basis.
  • To evaluate options technically, commercially and financially before making a decision.
  • To manage the team to meet agreed financial targets.
  • Produce the required management, financial and business information to the Land Restoration Ground Engineering Board on a regular basis.

 

Client Care and Development

  • To focus on the needs of existing customers to maintain repeat business.
  • To prepare strategies for developing new client relationships, both with existing clients and into new client organisations, business sectors and geographical territories.
  • To provide leadership in the ongoing fostering of a strong business development culture at all levels within the team.

 

Developing the Team

  • To promote the cultural values of WSP.
  • To promote teamwork within the business unit.
  • To develop teams and individuals to maximise their contribution, performance and potential.
